🔬 What is a Cell? – The Building Block of Life

The cell is the fundamental unit of life — the smallest structural and functional unit capable of carrying out all life processes independently. Every living organism on Earth is composed of one or more cells!

🔍 Discovery of Cell

In 1665, English scientist Robert Hooke examined a thin slice of cork tissue under his primitive microscope. He observed small compartments that resembled the rooms (cells) in a monastery, and thus coined the term “cell.”

Later, Anton van Leeuwenhoek discovered living cells in pond water using improved microscopes, observing tiny moving organisms he called “animalcules.”

🎯 Why These Differences?
